CardPatterns Sketch #135 and MojoMonday #209

This is the other card I completed over the weekend.  I used sketch #135 from CardPatterns.  Here is the sketch:
 Aaannnnd, here's my card:

Whaddya think??  I've been playing with designs that incorporate pressed flowers, and this is my favorite one yet!

Also, I managed to eek out a card for the MojoMonday Sketch #209 this evening!  Am I a busy girl or what?

Card:

This one was fun!  I tried out my Xyron machine for the first time for this.  The large snowflake was cut out on the Big Shot with a Sizzlits die.  Then I ran it through the Xyron, and sprinkled a silver sparkly embossing powder on the sticky side, then heated with the heat tool.  I did the same with the smaller snowflakes, which were punched from a small 1/2 inch punch, and I used iridescent embossing powder for those.  Here is a close-up:
I used two different embossing folders on this card, polka-dots on the white, and a snowflake pattern on the light blue.  I like the blue, white and silver combination, and I've been dying to try out the snowflakes, so this was fun to do!

If I can stay on the roll I seem to be on this week, I might attempt another card with this design.  Apparently the first week of each month is contest week, so there are prizes given for some of the cards submitted!  I don't know if I have much chance of winning, but it is fun to participate anyway!

  4. Great cards! I should get a xyron, I always see it but I just keep on passing it everytime I visit my craft store. Christmas is coming, it'll be on my wish lists.^_^
